SCIENCE LAB                        

 

At MTES, the goal of the science lab is for students to be able to connect lessons and activities done in the classroom, with related hands-on activities done in the science lab.  The classroom science teacher and science lab teacher work together to plan and implement lessons that are done in the science lab.  The students work in pairs or groups on experiments, activities, and investigations.  Students use scientific processing skills such as: observing, following directions, graphing, hypothesizing, inferring, measuring, sequencing, experimenting, and classifying.  Students in grades 3-6 come to the science lab.  From as early as third grade the scientific method is being introduced and reinforced as students progress into the upper elementary grades.
