Dear Partners in Education,
I am so excited and honored to enter my ninth year as principal of John Hydock Elementary School! I joined the Mansfield Township School district as the Supervisor of Curriculum and quickly moved into the role of principal. I graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education in 2000. (Go Blue Hens!) I then continued on to receive my Master's Degree in the field of Administration and Curriculum from Georgian Court University. I am currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Grand Canyon University to receive my degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphsis in Special Education.I've been working in education for over 20 years! Some of my experiences include working in an Abbott school district teaching 2nd grade, teaching in an inclusion classroom, teaching Kindergarten, and serving as Principal of a private preschool.Throughout my many experiences in education, I have become well-versed in many curricular areas, including balanced literacy and standards-based mathematics. I also have practical knowledge of Responsive Classroom, Character Education, Anti-Bullying, Second Step Violence Prevention, and Understanding by Design.Administrators and teachers everywhere recognize the important contributions parents/families make toward a child's success in school. There is no question- success at school begins at home. Parents are the single most important variable in a child's schooling. Families model both a silent and spoken language in front of children daily. I will strive to keep a consistent line of communication between our school and our school families and establish a strong, collaborative relationship. "Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together." -Paul RyanIn our school, I believe that we have today's learners who will become tomorrow's leaders. It is our job as educators to provide opportunities for our students to be successful as well as challenge them to reach new heights. As the principal of JHES, it is my mission to motivate, inspire, and propel each and every member of our school family including (but not limited to) students, teachers, and parents. On a more personal note, when I am not walking the halls of JHES, I can be found reading a good book, attending a Broadway show, or listening to music. I love spending time with my family; especially my husband and my 2 children ( one in 7th Grade and the other in 10th grade.)I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you!Yours in education,Stacy Cullari
