Classroom Guidance & Character Education
Guidance lessons are developmental in nature and focus on various themes throughout the year to help students reach their full social, emotional, and academic potential.
At John Hydock, students visit with me once per month for a Character Education lesson. A different pillar of character is highlighted each month and students are taught ways that they can uphold the pillar at school, home, and in the community.
At MTES, I visit each classroom once per month to provide lessons on various themes including positive school behaviors, peer relationships, diversity, conflict resolution, managing difficult emotions, and bullying prevention.
Students will participate in a variety of activities during Guidance lessons including discussions, role-plays, stories, as well as activities that incorporate technology. Please check back to the announcements page on this webpage to find out what we are up to in Guidance.
